Is HEX or eHEX Better? Is the Sum Greater Than the Whole? What is the Richard Heart Perspective?

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

I wanted to jump on a trend that I'm passionate about, and right now, the HEX community is raging with debate over whether the community should let eHEX (Ethereum HEX) die and let HEX (Pulsechain HEX) thrive.

As always, people tend to only consider these things from their own perspective and how it will benefit them.

Because my bags are weighted evenly, I'm trying to consider this from the perspective of the whole community.

What does richard heart stand for?
Sorry Dicky, I don't wanna blow my midjourney credit's all at once and this is the best it came up with!

What would Richard Heart's perspective be? HEX or eHEX?

Frist let's be clear about Richard Heart's perspective. I tried looking on hexsearch.io but couldn't find an exact quote, so I asked chatGPT

What would Richard Heart think of this HEX split?
What would Richard Heart think of this HEX split?

I won't say he's perfect (no one is), but the way he understands and capture's the ethos of decentralisation in cryptocurrency is as good as any of its thought leaders.

The community that's grown up around him (Hexicans) has developed around what he's created and presented to the world.

The HEX community considers itself to be one of the strongest communities in crypto, and I agree - but it all comes down to the way in which the code is designed. It entices us to collectivize and work together.

But like all communities, when there's opposing ideas, there can be a split.... Just like now

HEX or eHEX - which side are you on?

If I was to guess, I'd be willing to bet that the people who want HEX to do well on Pulsechain have a bigger holding in Pulsechain and PulseX.

They have the perception that a stronger HEX on Pulsechain generates more traffic and volume on their blockchain, boosting their investment.

And if I was to guess, it's the true HEX OG's who have a huge bag of Hex that want both to do well as it's in their interest.

Interestingly, I sit in the middle. My combined HEX bags on both chains is about the same as my combined PLS and PLSX bags, so I feel I can be very objective here.

I said I was sorry!

HEX and pHEX - is the sum of the parts greater than the whole?

Not only is this Richard's ethos, just look around you. Everything in nature works together in harmony - and if it doesn't, it's usually because we've interfered in some way.

Richard Heart's perspective on community and harmony and nature
Look, blame Midjourney all right!

Nature just gives, and everything works together in harmony as a totality.

Any system, that can represent the principles of nature as closely as possible seems to always thrive.

This is why capitalism in its current form, seems to be reaching it's limits.

What I love about decentralized finance, is (imo) it seems to closely resemble nature in principle. That's what drew me to it all 3 market cycles ago. That's what made me gorge on a DeFi book when finances didn't really interest me - it just made sense and blew me away!

Coexistence ALWAYS works better.

And you know it in your heart!

And so for that reason alone, they both need to thrive. But if your heart is dead and cold, I'll give you some logic.

HEX or eHEX? OR HEX AND EHEX?!?!?!

HEX camp might think you get higher fees, more volume, more traffic on Pulsechain

But it becomes an insulated ecosystem separated from the rest of cryptocurrency, a fantastic point made by yourfriendsommi in his video:

The mother of Pulsechain - eHEX - dies, and so the risk for every other cryptocurrency to migrate over might be too big!

It's easy for you if you like Richard Heart and HEX, but if you don't, why would you take that risk seeing what it's done to eHEX? Would you want your XRP to risk completely dying on ETH? How do you know it's going to thrive on PLS?

The XRP army won't care, but it's the fringes who sit on the opposite sides of spectrum which will hold the power, and if eHEX dies, I can't imagine they'd take that risk.

So while you might get more HEX volume for your PLS and PLSX, you've just disconnected from the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem - the opposite of coexistence.

And so you're actually getting a net return of less volume from other cryptocurrencies for your PLS and PLSX

What about the Pulsechain social proof?

On top of that, what does it say about the strength of the Pulsechain if the original HEX, which did a 10,000x, created a new blockchain, and through all the scam and all FUD and STILL came out on top survives?

How much more social proofing does that gives Pulsechain?

I would say a LOT!

Not to mention, the extra eyes on HEX if eHEX does another all-time high in this upcoming bull market - how many more eyeballs does that bring over to Pulsechain?

Conclusion

I can see both sides of the argument, so I'm trying to be objective, and I think it's clearly better for the whole if they both survive.

However, I don't think the benefits are direct and linear - I think it's something that benefits the entire community in an indirect way that takes time to come to fruition.

But overall, it's much greater for Pulsechain if it's seen as something that coexists with Ethereum rather than being disconnected from the rest of the rest of the cryptocurrency community.

Working together and coexisting is always better. Always.

Why would it be any different here?
